Coventry named UK city of culture 2021
Coventry has been named the UK’s city of culture for 2021, giving it a one-off opportunity to boost the economy, tourism, civic pride and access to the arts – but also, its backers hope, a chance to be in the limelight and have some fun. Mark Brown reports for The Guardian.
The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum awarded funding to help ‘create a lasting legacy for visual arts in the city’
Culture Coventry Trust, which manages the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, has secured grant funding to enable them to capitalise on the opportunity of UK City of Culture and create a legacy that changes the national perception of Coventry as a place of significant visual arts programming.
The Art of Coventry II
The Art of Coventry is a programme of events organised by Coventry Artspace designed to support and develop West Midlands-based artists. The second season runs from August to October.
