Using the latest in virtual reality technology, Mat Collishaw’s Thresholds restages the first major public exhibition of photography in the UK, William Henry Fox Talbot’s display of photographic prints at King Edwards’s School, Birmingham in August 1839.

The exhibition creates a fully immersive portal to the past, enabling the audience to walk through a digitally constructed room to see, feel and hear an event from over 170 years ago.

Part of Developed in Birmingham: 15 June – 3 September 2017.
