“Ways of Something” is a collaborative moving image artwork in four episodes, compiled and curated by Canadian artist Lorna Mills.
The artwork consists of 113 one minute long videos, made by different artists from around the world. Bringing together 3D rendering, animated GIFs, film remixes and mash-ups, webcam performances and websites the project highlights the conditions of artmaking after the internet.
The film follows the narrative of John Berger’s 1972 BBC documentary “Ways of Seeing” but replaces the visuals with contemporary imagery. Presented in partnership with Film Hub Midlands.
